Food Quality

The management of food quality is of critical importance to our business and our customers. We continuously monitor our production process and pro-actively manage risk through a HACCP framework and through Tassal’s Integrated Management System (TIMS). TIMS is an integral part of ensuring that elements such as food safety and quality expectations are achieved in a reliable, productive, safe and environmentally sensitive manner. We have extensive policies and procedures in place aimed at the consistent production of high quality, safe food for all customers. Our dedicated quality and production teams work together to ensure that these objectives are achieved.  To support this platform we also have our extensive external 3rd party audit reviews that underpin our certifications.

**99% of Tassal product is produced from our Tasmanian facilities in Huonville, Margate and Dover, which hold ISO9001:2008, HACCP, SQF Code Level 3, Woolworths QA, Coles QA and DAFF certifications. The remainder of our product is produced at Port Lincoln Tuna Processor and Colonial Farms, located on mainland Australia.

Innovation Centres

Tassal produces traditional fresh, frozen, smoked, canned and other value added salmon and seafood products and is a major innovator. The Tassal state-of-the-art Innovation Centres were purpose built so product ideas can be taken from concept though to pilot production.

Tassal has two innovation centres, in the Margate and Lidcombe processing sites. Tassal’s commitment to innovation extends to a working partnership with the Tasmanian CSIRO who are assisting with Tassal’s scientific product development requirements, as well as retailers’ innovation teams.
