Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)

ASC is an independent, not‐for‐profit organisation founded in 2010 by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH). Tassal achieved a global first for any salmon company in 2014 – gaining Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification across its operations.

The ASC standard works to promote best practice aquaculture globally and aims for a world where everyone has access to responsibly sourced seafood. The standard includes more than 15 indicators addressing issues and impacts to provide consumers with an assurance they are purchasing salmon from farms that manage their environment and social impact to the highest standards.

Tassal achieved ASC certification in 2014 and our salmon are monitored and audited to ensure that they are reared in the best possible conditions annually.
