Tassal understands that, as an industry leader, we set the standard for sustainable aquaculture.
And we are committed to transparency in all our operations. To demonstrate this, for the past two years we have published a sustainability report, that includes our interactions with wildlife.
Even before we were publishing our own data in our sustainability reports, we were reporting this detail to the Tasmanian Government.
Importantly, we take full responsibility for our impacts, and we are not complacent on the issue. For example, Tassal has been working for some time and has spent millions of dollars exploring seal exclusion technology (seal proof nets, improved operations, training and awareness for all staff).
We will continue to work to minimise our impact and negative interactions with wildlife – and will continue to report on it through our sustainability reports.
The reports are available to review here.
